Today in the Joe White Room of the CCC a Forum/Speak Out was held in honor to further discuss Trayvon Martin and antiBlack violence. As expected, put on by renowned Professor Dr. Willoughby-Herard, it was informative, inspiring, and provocative. To open discussion was a panel full of knowledgeable faculty including Dr. Wilderson, Dr. Sexton, and Professor Kim of Asian American Studies. The discussion was enough to bring some to tears, to enrage a few, and inspire others. Let’s not let these feelings fade away. Keep the passion alive!

week 2

This week we recapped the I AM Rally and tried to compile everyone’s feelings and thoughts about how it all played out. Overall, I’d say we did a fantastic job! Along with that, we talked about antiBlack violence both historically and why it’s [still] profitable today. The overall consensus was that action must be taken, our voices must be heard!
